As a Momma of little girls I find myself constantly praying for their precious sweet spirits to stand strong in a society who finds pleasure in degrading the value of women. I pray that my daughter’s find their strength from their heavenly Father and that they grow up understanding and knowing that their worth is in Christ, and Him alone. My heart’s desire is that they learn to serve others before even thinking of themselves. I pray they learn to listen carefully to what other’s have to say and value their input. Raising strong daughters starts in the heart and grows from the inside out! As godly parents it is our job to train up our children to understand the value of loving Jesus, respecting others, & standing firm for what they believe in!
Teaching our children to understand and study scripture is extremely important. When we hide God’s word in our heart, & pray in advance for victory, holiness & a life pleasing to Him. We are not only growing in our spiritual walks personally but we are leading by example to the little eyes that are watching us. As a busy Mommy I honestly struggle with being consistent in my daily devotions and studying of God’s word. It is something that is a constant battle in my life no matter how much my heart longs to be in tune with the Lord, I still struggle.
I have always been one to love the great outdoors, enjoy the smell of fresh cut grass and find pleasure in soaking up the sun!! Breathing in the fresh air, going for a long walk, picking wild flowers, and watching the sunset are a few of my favorite things! For me it goes so much deeper than just being an “outdoorsy kinda girl”, it is capturing the beauty and essence of God’s creation! I feel so very blessed to be able to enjoy the many things our Lord has created and I strive to pass that gratefulness and enjoyment on to my daughters.
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19. Teaching my girls that their bodies are God’s temple is something that I believe will create in them a very precious and unique gift that no one can ever take away from them. In the world we live in today, young girls are taught to flaunt what their Momma gave them and expose as much as possible. It saddens me deeply that so many little girls grow up to be women who have no respect for themselves and feel that the only way they will be loved is by giving away every piece of their heart and body. Raising strong godly daughters is not a calling I feel equipped to do but by God’s grace and in His love I am honored to be entrusted with these precious little hearts.
Will you take the challenge of committing with me to being a Momma who is quick to listen, slow to speak, & slow to anger? A Mommy who strives to teach our daughters to be gracious and strong! To lead by example in our Christlike love that their little hands and feet cannot help but follow. Let’s be Mommas together that pursue Jesus with such passion that our daughters see that true beauty and strength come from a heart that is set apart for His kingdom and hands that do His work!!
This Momma struggles on the daily and has to ask for forgiveness more times than not. Let’s be mommies who encourage one another and give support when needed! It is sure nice to know that we aren’t in this parenting thing alone! Stay strong and press on sweet Mommas, keep furthering His Kingdom!
